Sandhill Crane - Antigone canadensis.Tall, long necked birds that migrate to Montana for summer breeding and raising young. Usually gray in color but preening with mud turns feathers reddish brown depending on soil type and iron content. Usually hatch two colts but typically one raises one to fledging. Cranes can live 20+ years.
